LGCC annual Bible conference is here! This year, we are honored to have Dr. Kent Edwards speaking to us about Biblical Leadership on Sep. 21-22, 2012. 3 workshops will be conducted in English with interpretation.
Workshop #1: “The Work of a Leader” (with Cantonese interpretation) on Sep. 21, Fri., 8-10p.m.
Workshop #2: “Leading by Faith” (with Mandarin interpretation) on Sep. 22, Sat., 3:30-5:00p.m. (Children’s program and nursery service will be provided)
Workshop #3: “The Goal of the Christian Leader” (with Cantonese interpretation) on Sep. 22, Sat., 5:15-6:45p.m. (Children’s program and nursery service will be provided)
Dr. Kent Edwards will also preach in LGCC’s English and Cantonese worships on Sunday, Sep. 23.
Dr. Kent Edwards is the tenured Professor of Preaching & Leadership and the Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program at Talbot School of Theology / BIOLA University. He also serves as pastor of Oasis Community Church in Yorba Linda CA, Executive Board Member of the Association for Doctor of Ministry Education, editor of The Journal of Christian Ministry and is past president of the Evangelical Homiletics Society. Dr. Edwards is the author of two award-winning books: Effective First-Person Biblical Preaching (Zondervan, 2005) and Deep Preaching (Broadman & Holman, 2009). He has earned the degrees of Bachelor of Theology, Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry, and is a candidate for a PhD in Intercultural Education.
Dr. Edwards’ ambition is to change people’s lives with the Word of God and equip others to do the same. Kent is known for his passion for preaching, and brings over 25 years of Christian leadership experience, both as a senior pastor and a church planter. In addition to ministering regularly at churches throughout the country, he is a popular conference and seminar speaker and lectures internationally in academic settings.
Kent has been married to Nola for thirty-one years. They have two sons: Nathan (22) and Jonathan (19).
