主恩基督教會現邀得香港中國播道會窩打老道山福音堂主任牧師—蘇穎睿牧師，與及其太太蘇劉君玉師母於2011年12月2至3日在本教會舉行3堂《主恩。靈程進深工坊2011》專題講座。講座課題包括：1) 《後現代思想對基督教的挑戰》（12月2日，星期五晚上8時至10時）；2) 《處理情緒》（12月3日，星期六下午4時至5時15分）；3) 《舊約的神是殘暴嗎？》（12月3日，星期六下午5時30分至晚上7時）。所有專題講座均以粵語主講，歡迎有興趣者參加。

講員簡介：

蘇穎睿牧師畢業於 Westminster Theological Seminary (M.Div.)、Princeton Theological Seminary (Th.M.)，及Fuller Theological Seminary (D.Min.)。曾任三藩市播道會主任牧師，現任中國播道會窩打老道山福音堂主任牧師。著作包括《福音性研經》、《我係我》、《情緒逼人來》、《從掙扎到成長》、《四季成長路》及《基礎神學》等書。

蘇劉君玉博士是加州持牌婚姻及家庭治療師及婚姻家庭輔導博士，曾任職California Pacific Medical Center及Family Service Agency of San Francisco 精神心理健康部。現為香港誠信綜合治療中心輔導臨床顧問。蘇博士著有《處理情緒》、《處理壓力》、《認識精神及情緒病》、《婚前婚後》、及《家長輔導孩子的技巧》等書。

Caring for Elderly Parent

The English congregation is starting a new ministry called LGCare.

It is a ministry to help our church members to share practical wisdom on elderly care and healthy aging, and to find mutual support during this journey of aging. Many of us are taking care of our aging parents, and are struggling to do the right things to show our love and support for them. This ministry will provide an opportunity to learn more about the needs and challenges of the elderly so that we can empathize with them. We will also learn about skills and knowledge so that we can be a goodcaretaker for the elderly, and to make proper plans for the elderly.

Our first LGCare meeting will be held during Sunday school hour from 11:00am to 12:30pm in Room 604 on September 4, 2011 (Sunday – Labor Day weekend).

Please feel free to invite your friends. All the program will be conducted in English.

8/20 Christian Parenting Meeting

The quarterly Christian Parenting meeting will be held on August 20, 2011 (Saturday) from 3:00pm to 6:30pm at the new chapel.

This is a longer meeting than usual because we want to cover a very important topic for

most parents – how to teach our children manage their money. The speaker David Briggs tells us in his DVD that most young working adults can enjoy financial success or face financial struggles for the rest of their lives depending on how well they manage their money.

As parents, our job is not complete without helping our kids manage money which can start at a very young age. So do not miss this opportunity to be equipped by an excellent speaker on “Raising financially freed-up kids – teaching responsibility at every age”.

The meeting will start sharp at 3:00pm, so please come a few minutes early to drop off your children at the children center.

The meeting is open to both members and friends, so please feel free to bring your friends.

8月23至28日–角聲佈道團「第五屆傳福音體驗週」

要兩星期大假到海外短宣但老闆卻不放人？缺乏雙份資金與伴侶一同參加海外短宣而不能成行？想傳福音卻苦無訓練裝備？想同人講福音卻害怕單拖上陣沒戰友？

不用怕，神已為你預備好一切解決以上問題的辦法—就是參加「基督教角聲佈道團」北加州分會在8月23至28日（星期二至日）所舉行的「第五屆傳福音體驗週」（粵語）。

本傳福音體驗訓練包括：

上午為靈修及佈道訓練，課程有:「佈道基本功及如何引入福音內容」、「福音工具運用」、「主題式得救見證」、「陪談須知及跟進須知」、「如何在教會招待、接觸和跟進新朋友」。

下午為「外展佈道實習」和「分享及福音難題解答」。

本屆並增設進深課程：「經文佈道法」及「佈道組長訓練」。

This Cantonese workshop will discuss the topic: “How should we deal with archaeology and the Bible?”

The speaker, Mr. Timotheus Mui who recently graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary will talk about what archaeology can do—in what ways archaeology can help to understand the Bible and stimulate faith; and cannot do—the limitations of archaeology in discovering truth. This workshop aims to help people to have a balanced perspective and prepare them to have proper reactions to the news concerning secularists’ use of archaeology in discrediting the bible, and on the other hand, Christians who claim to prove the Bible through present exciting biblical discoveries in archaeology.
